Here the most important questions companies interested in designing their website should ask to web design agencies to decide if they are suitable for their business.
Being so many the offers of web design available in the Internet industry, it is sometimes difficult to decide which agency is most suitable to handle the development and design of our website. Add to this diversity of design styles, techniques and methodologies for website development, and the selection process becomes even more complicated.
The risk of making a bad decision exists primarily because many of the entrepreneurs and executives are still unaware of best practices to design and promote a website. People still focus much of their concern in the graphic design of the website and neglect other factors that are more relevant such as the definition of a content based on real customer needs and implementing an effective system to help them promote their website online, such as search engine positioning.
For those who are currently choosing a web design agency for the first time, and even for those who already have some previous experience, I have prepared this list of questions you should consider making to all of those web design agencies interested in designing your company's website:
• How many websites have you designed in which a payment was involved?
• What are the websites URLs of the best pages you have designed?
• Which are the most affordable and most expensive projects than you have developed?
• How long have you been designing web pages?
• Who is responsible for its graphic design?
• What criteria will be applied in graphic design in the development of our website?
• Explain your technique to reduce the size of the images and why it is important to do so.
• Have you worked for our competition?
• How would you help us to advertise and promote our website online?
• Do you know about the different ways of promoting a website?
• Are you search engine positioning specialists?
• How many websites have you positioned on search engines and what was the degree of success?
• Do you make recommendations regarding the most appropriate content that our website should have?
• Do you know about content management systems?
• Do you know what effect does a content management system have on search engine rankings?
• What is your working methodology when designing websites in foreign languages?
• Would you assist us throughout the entire design process or just design the website?
The agency that responds satisfactorily to each of these questions, or at least a high percentage of them, necessarily becomes a serious contender to be the designer of your business website. This of course, complying with all other determinants of price, quality, reliability and service.
If you have questions about what should be the answers to some of these questions in particular, tell your web designer to get an answer that is clear and convincing. If possible, study a little about those topics that you have doubts on. This will help you make better decisions.
